Richard Wolfströme
Hello, I’m Richard – a shamanic practitioner, artist, and facilitator dedicated to honouring ancient wisdom and spirit-led healing in ways that speak powerfully to the needs of our modern world. My work is rooted in cultivating harmony, empowering personal sovereignty, and deepening connection – with yourself, with Spirit, with nature, and with the lands and places you call home.
Since 2008, I’ve been immersed in the path of shamanism, and I’ve been sharing its teachings through workshops and trainings since 2017. My journey has also included men’s Jungian shadow work through The Mankind Project and Band of Brothers, as well as co-gender transformational practices with Integral Life Practice.
I’m inspired to support individuals, groups, and organisations in discovering holistic, empowering ways to live with authenticity, resilience, and meaning. Whether through guiding personal inquiry, supporting communities to thrive, or helping people live with greater purpose, I walk alongside those seeking belonging, transformation, and deeper connection in an ever-evolving world.
Let’s journey together.
Partners at the Roots of Our Circle
Swiss College for Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Shamanism
One of the most exciting aspects of this work is the way it opens pathways of innovation. When like-minded souls come together, there’s a natural spark – a shared drive to question convention, loosen the grip of old programming, and co-create something that flows more freely with who we are, where we’ve come from, and where we wish to go.
Together, with the friends listed below, we have been developing a more spirit-connected (Shen-led) approach to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture. Together, we are crafting workshops, trainings, and apprenticeships that weave ancestral wisdom and modern shamanic practices into the fabric of Chinese Medicine. The aim is to foster a more intuitive, embodied, and spiritually attuned way of engaging with these healing disciplines. These teachings are for both current TCM practitioners and those just beginning their journey – especially those who feel called to make this work their vocation.
Workshops and trainings can be found on the Workshops page very soon!
In the meantime let me introduce you to Alex and Hung.
Alex Bechinger
Alex is not only a close collaborator but also my partner in delivering our shamanic workshops, rooted in Switzerland. His path into healing began within the Western medical system, where he trained and worked as a Head Nurse, specialising in mental health and end-of-life care – areas that deeply informed his sensitivity to the emotional and spiritual dimensions of health.
Drawn to a more holistic and spirit-connected approach, Alex went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and has since immersed himself in a number of complementary systems, including Master Tung’s acupuncture and classical Chinese medicine. His ongoing studies at the Institute of Functional Medicine in the United States reflect his commitment to bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary integrative practices.
Alex brings depth, clarity, and grounded compassion to the work – holding space with presence and precision, while always listening for what moves beneath the surface.
Dr Hung Tran
Hung has been in clinical practice for over 25 years, working between Marylebone and the Lake District. A pioneering teacher of advanced acupuncture and a lifelong seeker of Truth, Hung places self-cultivation and inner integration at the heart of what it means to be an effective clinician.
Born in Vietnam, Hung encountered the power of Oriental medicine early in life. At just six months old, he contracted polio – a kind physician’s intervention not only saved his life, but altered its trajectory entirely, planting the seeds of his lifelong dedication to healing.
After growing up in the UK and qualifying as a medical doctor, Hung soon found that Western medicine offered little in the way of true preventative care or empowerment of the individual. This realisation led him to his first teacher and mentor in Oriental medicine, Master Nguyen Tinh Thong, with whom he apprenticed for ten years, deepening his connection to acupuncture.
Later, Hung encountered the profound teachings of Dr Jeffrey Yuen, an authentic lineage master of Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM), and studied extensively with Ann Cecil-Sterman, one of Jeffrey’s senior students. These encounters catalysed a deep and enduring fascination with the advanced channel system of acupuncture. Hung became one of the earliest teachers appointed by Ann to share this lineage, and in 2017, he established the first mentorship programme in the UK and Europe focused on advanced acupuncture.
Hung’s work is driven by a passion to disrupt limitation and awaken greatness – guiding others toward transformation through subtle yet powerful shifts in awareness.
